What first brought you to yoga and how long have you been practicing?

My daughter introduced me to yoga and I have been practicing in a very sporadic way for about 5 years.

What is/are your intention(s) for your yoga practice?

I like the idea of getting stronger and more flexible, while also trying to achieve inner harmony.

What is your favorite pose and why?

I like the focus on strength and balance in the Warrior II pose.

What is your favorite class at InsideOut Yoga?

When I am feeling strong, Align & Flow is great, but some days Breathe & Stretch is a better fit.

How has the practice of yoga influenced your life?

Yoga has helped me through some medical challenges and makes me feel much better about myself on many levels.

What advice would you have for a beginning yoga student?

Try to resist the urge to compare yourself to others and just focus on your own progress.

What is your occupation?

I am a lawyer and am newly retired from teaching in the Criminology Department at George Mason University.

What activities do you enjoy?

I like to walk, read, cook, spend time with family and friends, travel and am in the process of exploring the infinite opportunities that surround me in my new stage of life.

What is your favorite thing about living in the Northern Neck or Middle Peninsula?

The peaceful feeling from watching the water. It seems to make life a bit kinder and gentler than it is elsewhere.

Is there anything you want to add?

Susan is awesome!
